The experienced Brazilian left-back made his first Barclays Premier League start for Mark Hughes’ side in the controversial 3-3 draw with Bolton on Saturday.
He admits that he found it hard work but reckons no-one should be too downhearted at the loss of two points but rather take the positives out of the match.
“We can learn from the Barcelona way,” said the former Nou Camp favourite. “They play the same way every game. They play the same against Chelsea as they do against a third or fourth division side in Spain.
We still have to improve that aspect, but the club is moving in the right direction. We are changing the mentality of a whole club, not just 25 players

As an ex-Arsenal man, Sylvinho can expect a warm reception at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night should he back up his Reebok bow with a second appearance in place of the injured Wayne Bridge.
“I was upset when Wayne was hurt because he is part of the future at City,” continued Sylvinho. “But I enjoyed the game at Bolton. Matches like that usually take shape in the opening 20 minutes and it was hard for us.
“We didn’t play well early on or defend as a team, but in the second half and even with ten men we got the ball down and tried to play football.
“I felt I had a good connection with Craig Bellamy and Robinho, and I am ready to play again at Tottenham if selected. Hopefully we will have more confidence to play in the opposition half; that is important.”
