There is mixed news on the injury front for City as Saturday's visit to White Hart Lane looms.

Shaun Wright-Phillips has resumed training after taking a knee injury that forced him to miss last Sunday’s derby. The winger has not featured for the Blues for a month, his last appearance coming in the first leg against Hamburg, after which an ankle problem forced him to the sidelines.

But the knee injury picked up in training has added to his frustration, and speaking at this morning’s press conference, Mark Hughes revealed that SWP is touch-and-go for the Spurs game.

He said, “He has got a bone bruise, and it is taking a little bit longer than we thought to clear up. It is one of those injuries that if you get a bang on it, it sets you back and you are back at square one.

“It’s frustrating, but he is going back out to train with the group today so hopefully he comes through today and will be an option for the weekend. He has not done a great deal of training this week, so whether or not he can start remains to be seen”.

It looks as though the groin strain picked up at Old Trafford will prevent Robinho from featuring in north London, with Hughes adding, “Robbie is having treatment and we do not expect him to be fit for this weekend, but we are hopeful for the Bolton game”.
