There were times in the second half when the Gunners were in the ascendancy when lesser teams may have buckled but the Wales international believes that his teammates this year are made of sterner stuff than when he came into the club from West Ham.
“We are tougher and stronger,” admitted the striker whose energy and commitment has been a big part of the last two wins.
“There is a big difference from when I walked through the door. We had an abundance of quality and could rip teams apart last season but were also capable of not tracking runners and not picking up the points we may be should have done on occasions.
“The quality of player that has come in has improved the mentality there is no doubt about that.”
I thought he was man of the match on Saturday and if he can do that when fit for the games that he plays in then he will be an asset for the rest of the season.

Bellamy who has played many of his minutes in midfield and even as an ersatz wing back is relishing every minute of his involvement and drew rich praise from boss Mark Hughes after his herculean contribution at the weekend.
“I really am enjoying it, I feel as if I can do a job all over the pitch,” he enthused. “I am enjoying playing in a team with real ambition.
The striker who now has thirteen starts and a mightily impressive six goals to his name while at City is also full of praise for leading scorer Emmanuel Adebayor.
