Voting for the April Etihad Player of the Month award is now open – and that means a golden opportunity for one lucky fan to present the prize to the winning player.

One City supporter will be drawn from the hat at random to hand over the prize in person and then take part in a website interview at the Carrington training centre.

So who are the leading candidates for consideration this month?

Emmanuel Adebayor, who has seen strike partner Carlos Tevez collect a hatful of accolades this season, put himself in the frame with goals in the romps against Burnley and Birmingham.

You can’t keep Carlos out of the picture of course, and the 28-goal Argentina ace enhanced his best-ever season with another strike at Burnley and a double against the Brummies.

Nigel de Jong, City’s Mr Consistency, tackled his way through another good month and produced a marvellous man-of-the-match performance in the derby at the City of Manchester Stadium.

And local hero Nedum Onuoha more than justified his return to the line-up, particularly with his outstanding display to help dismantle Birmingham, including the goal of the game.

So plenty of candidates - but unlike the General Election not too much time to decide on your vote! The polls close at noon on Wednesday, April 28. Choose now - and don’t forget, it could be you presenting the award.

Who will join previous winners Craig Bellamy (August and September), Martin Petrov (October), Shay Given (November), Carlos Tevez (December and January), Vincent Kompany (February) and Adam Johnson (March)?
