Fabio Capello has named six City players in the squad for England’s two forthcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Joe Hart, Joleon Lescott, Gareth Barry, James Milner, Adam Johnson and Shaun Wright-Phillips are in the 24 for the games against Bulgaria and Switzerland.

Lescott has not featured for his country since last November’s friendly against Brazil in Qatar, and his versatility has seen him play three games at left back for the Blues so far this season.

Full squad: Scott Carson, Ben Foster, Joe Hart, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Michael Dawson, Kieran Gibbs, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Joleon Lescott, Matthew Upson, Gareth Barry, Michael Carrick, Steven Gerrard, Adam Johnson, James Milner, Theo Walcott, Shaun Wright-Phillips, Ashley Young, Darren Bent, Carlton Cole, Peter Crouch, Jermain Defoe, Wayne Rooney.

Elsewhere, three City youngsters have helped the England U17 side win the FA International tournament. Ellis Plummer, Courtney Meppen-Walters and Alex Henshall all played in the fine 3-1 win over Portugal at Scunthorpe’s Glanford Park that secured a stylish victory for John Peacock’s side.
