There’ll be some familiar faces lining up opposite Shay Given when the Republic of Ireland take on Brazil at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

City’s number one is likely not only to face Robinho, currently on loan with Santos, but former City team-mate Elano as well in the friendly that takes place on neutral territory in north London.

Young left-back Greg Cunningham, who made his City debut against Scunthorpe just over a month ago, also received his first call-up into the senior Irish squad as Geovanni Trappatoni looks to build for the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.

A host of other City players are on international duty this week:

Shaun Wright-Phillips, Gareth Barry, Joleon Lescott: England v Egypt
