Kieran Trippier is hoping to play a part tonight in England's Under-21 clash with Germany in Wiesbaden.
Full-back Trippier, who is on loan at Championship club Barnsley, was added to the squad by Stuart Pearce after Micah Richards and Chris Smalling were promoted to Fabio Capello’s senior squad to face France.
Kieran, who has international experience at Under-18, 19 and 20 level, was also in the Under-21 squad for the recent European Championship play-off success against Romania but has yet to make his debut.
FA Youth Cup winner Trippier said: “It is an honour to play for your country and a thrill to join up with the team. The coach has said that if I kept playing the way I am, he will be looking to involve me in the European Championships in Denmark next summer.”
