Make sure you vote for your selection and you could be chosen at random to hand over the September prize in person - and then take part in the official website interview at Carrington training centre.
It’s a great chance to meet one of your heroes courtesy of Etihad, named the world’s best airline. But which player will get the decision after City consolidated our dramatic start to the campaign to claim fourth position and beat champions Chelsea on the way?
There is one candidate who leaps to mind, of course, and it’s tempting to say that Vincent Kompany has been head and shoulders our best player after his colossal performances at the heart of a teak-tough defence.
He’s been unbeatable in the air, and it’s hard to believe the Belgium star was signed primarily as a midfielder after his commanding displays against Chelsea, who barely threatened Joe Hart’s goal, and Serie A rivals Juventus.
Alongside him, Kolo Toure has flourished since handing over the captaincy to Carlos Tevez, establishing a rapport with Kompany that promises to be a rock-solid foundation for City’s ambitions this season.
Mr Dependable Nigel de Jong has to be on everybody’s shortlist - his fierce tackling underpins a reassuring presence in midfield - while Pablo Zabaleta has given his all, and probably a bit more, for the cause.
And it’s been pleasing for Blues fans to see David Silva settling in and showing those silky Spanish touches.
We think they’re all in the frame - you might have your own ideas, so to ensure your favourite City star doesn’t miss out, register your choice now. Voting closes next Friday, October 8.
Don’t forget, if you vote for the winner, it could be you presenting the award - Deanna Williams did the honours for August winner Joe Hart. To cast your vote, click here.
