The Argentinian striker has already bagged 22 goals this season in all competitions and is challenging for the Premier League’s Golden Boot award, too.
The Blues haven’t had a player pick up this honour since Tony Book shared the award with Dave Mackay way back in 1969.
Carlos is up against stiff competition in the form of Tottenham pair Gareth Bale and Rafael Van der Vaart, Blackpool’s Charlie Adam, West Ham’s Scott Parker, Arsenal’s Samir Nasri and Manchester United’s Nemanja Vidic.
PFA Chief Executive Gordon Taylor said of Tevez: “He’s the leader of the team, and if there’s a lost cause to be chased, Carlos Tevez is the man to chase it.
“His goalscoring record, certainly for City, is up there with the best, but I think the thing the fans love most about him is the fact that he just never gives up, and sets the perfect example to the players around him.”
The winner will be announced later this month - good luck Carlos!
