Emmanuel Adebayor has joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan for the rest of the season.
The striker, signed from Arsenal in the summer of 2009, will not be eligible under Premier League rules to play against City when the teams meet at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Adebayor, who scored a Europa League hat-trick last season against Lech Poznan, started only two League games, scoring a penalty at Wolves. He also enjoyed a successful loan at Real Madrid.
