In a week where five City stars have made their way out on loan to other clubs, we take a look at how the current crop of loanees are getting on.

Those in action this weekend included defensive duo Ben Mee and Kieran Trippier whose Burnley side claimed their first win of the season by beating Derby County 2-1. The result brought an end to Derby’s perfect start to the new campaign and while the result could have been very different had it not been for Ben Mee’s goal line block at 1-0, Kieran Trippier was also praised for the attacking threat he brought from defence.

Leicester achieved a similar result without the absent Michael Johnson as they brought an end to Southampton’s 100% start to the Championship campaign. Without Johnson, former Blue Darius Vassell was on hand to put his side in front during the first three minutes of his side’s 3-2 win.

Ryan McGivern’s Crystal Palace now sit level on points with promotion favourites West Ham after coming from behind to draw 1-1 with Blackpool, but David Gonzalez’s Aberdeen continue to struggle north of the border after losing 2-0 to reigning champions Rangers. They now sit just one point off the foot of the SPL.

Stromsgodset’s chances of Europa League qualification seem to be fading away after they went a fourth game without a win. Mohammed Abu was in action for the Norwegian side as they drew 1-1 with Fredrikstad, while Abdi Ibrahim was missing for Dutch side NEC who won 2-1 in their meeting with Heracles.

18-year-old Loris Karius moved to Mainz on the same day that Vladimir Weiss and Roque Santa Cruz signed season-long deals with Spanish sides Espanyol and Real Betis respectively. Their exits followed Emmanuel Adebayor’s move to Spurs and Dedryck Boyata’s loan to Bolton earlier in the week.
