Manchester City is delighted to announce that Micah Richards has signed a new four-year contract with the Club.

The popular Academy graduate is approaching 200 appearances for City in all competitions since making his debut as a 17-year-old in October 2005.

He quickly took to first-team football and the following February he grabbed a dramatic last-minute equaliser at Villa Park to earn a replay in the FA Cup. In November of 2007, Micah won the first of 12 England caps so far and became the youngest defender to play for the national side.

Although versatile enough to play in central defence, Micah has established himself as City’s first choice right-back.

Despite a couple of niggling injuries, Micah was in great form for City during last season and he scored three times, including a winner against Reading in the FA Cup quarter final.
