Both players have been key to City’s success this season and Mancini is keeping his fingers crossed they will be back for the visit of Gerard Houllier’s side.
“I hope David and Vincent will return,” said Mancini. “I think we missed them against Fulham and they are both very important players for us.
“David injured his ankle against Aris and Vincent hadn’t recovered from his hip injury, but I hope one or both will be back for Wednesday.”
The Blues boss admitted his side looked tired in the second half after a below par performance against Fulham.
City had gone ahead through Mario Balotelli’s ninth goal of the season on 26 minutes, but Damien Duff levelled shortly after half-time to earn a point for the visitors and Mancini believes fatigue was the main reason.
“In the second half we didn’t look as sharp, but it is only to be expected when the same players are having to play every three days.
“If I could freshen up the side by resting three or four players, I would, but because we have so many injuries, it’s impossible.”
