Roberto Mancini will be looking to all the comforts of home as the Blues attack three competitions from their City of Manchester Stadium stronghold.

If all goes well the Blues could now have five successive home matches in the FA Cup sponsored by e on, the Barclays Premier League and the Europa League.

Aris will travel to Manchester next week and Mancini is hoping for a different outcome to the 0-0 draw on Tuesday night.

“I think we had control of the game but the pitch was very difficult,” he said afterwards.

“If we had scored early on when we had the chances then it might have been a different result.

“Aris defended with nine or ten players behind the ball and that made it very difficult.”

The manager was pleased to see the return of Mario Balotelli as a second half substitute and also got more vital game time into Edin Dzeko alongside skipper Carlos Tevez.

“This was only the second time Tevez and Dzeko had played together and they need time to gel. They need more games together,” ventured the boss.

“Of course it would have been better for the tie and ourselves if we had won the game and that is what we tried to do. Their goalkeeper played very well. Now we have another game and if we win then we are through to last sixteen.

“We can play with the ball on the floor at home. In Aris that was not possible.”
