Meanwhile he felt the team had shown good character coming from Old Trafford and fighting hard for a draw.
“It was bumpy out there and you had to watch the ball to the last minute and sometimes that made us lose out on a key pass,” he went on.
“To come back from a defeat at the weekend and come to a hard place like this and get a draw it is a stepping stone. What we have to do next time is when we get chances take them.”
Teammate Joe Hart also declared the stalemate in Greece a good result in the context of the competition.
“It is not a bad result we need to come here and first and foremost not get beat. It was a really tough environment and I thought the lads did well,” he said.
“The only reason it was 0-0 was their keeper made two great saves.”
