Five of City’s Academy graduates have been selected for international duty next week after being called up for various England squads.

Micah Richards and Ben Mee are both in the England Under-21 squad to face Italy next Tuesday as the Blues’ exciting crop of young talent continues to blossom on the international stage.

Reece Wabara and Alex Tcuimeni-Nimely have both been selected for the England Under-20s for the game against France and with preparations for the FIFA U20 World Cup beginning in earnest, it will be a great chance for both players to impress.

France are the reigning Under-19 world champions and coach Brian Eastick will be running a close eye on the likes of Blackpool’s Matt Phillips and Newcastle’s Nile Ranger who are also in the squad.

While Nimely has represented England previously, this is Wabara’s first call up and reward for a series of impressive displays in the heart of City’s Elite Development Squad this season.

Finally, 17-year-old Academy defender Kieran Kennedy has won his first call-up, too, and is in line for an England Under-19s debut alongside Liverpool’s Jack Robinson and Southampton’s highly-rated winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain against Germany next Tuesday.

Tickets for the Under-20’s are priced at just £3 for adults and £1 for concessions for the game which will be played on Wednesday, February 9 at Greenhaus Meadow, home of Shrewsbury Town. For further details, call the ticket hotline on: 01743 273 943.
