Wayne Bridge has joined West Ham for the rest of the season after completing his medical at the Upton Park club.

England defender Bridge, who was injured at the beginning of the season, has not figured prominently and last started a month ago in the Europa League at Juventus. His only Premier League start was at Blackpool in October.

Bridge, 30, was signed from Chelsea by Mark Hughes in the January 2009 transfer window and made his debut against Wigan. Last season Wayne was first-choice left back, but his campaign was blighted by two spells of injury.

Bridge, who began his career at Southampton and had a loan spell with Fulham while at Stamford Bridge, has made 42 appearances for City and has 36 caps for England after his debut against Holland in February, 2002.
