With City preparing for Saturday's early evening clash with Aston Villa, spirits were high during training at Carrington this morning.

The lads rolled out in chillly, but bright sunshine with thoughts of the trip to Villa Park in mind. Clearly, there’s no team spirit at second-placed, three-trophy chasing City!

Talking of which, take a bow, son - Kyle Wiffen, from our performance and analysis department - Kyle doesn’t miss a trick and gets everything on camera for future reference. There’s no hiding place from the Blues’ ever-inventive P&A deptartment.

Judging by one particular session Kyle was filming, the Blues are covering all angles should they be without the services of Joe Hart and Shay Given in any particular game, though judging by his technique, let’s hope Carlos never has to take his place between the sticks anytime soon!

At the end of the session, enter Tom Parry, another unsung member of the club’s backroom staff. Tom is part of the Blues’ sports science department and is always on hand to re-invogorate the lads with energy drinks and snacks when they are needed. A popular member of the team, particularly on hot days - which doesn’t happen very often at Carrington, it has to be said - not that Tom’s popularity is in doubt...
