Shaun Wright-Phillips is in contention for City's trip to Ukraine after shaking off a back problem.

The injury prevented Shaun, 29, from being available for City’s last two fixtures against Wigan and Aston Villa. He was an unused substitute in the draw with Fulham, warming up for much of the second half, but his last start for the Blues came in February’s away leg of the Europa League tie with Aris.

The game in the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Stadium could see Nigel de Jong start for the first time in over a month. The Dutchman’s ankle injury, sustained in the draw at St Andrews, kept him out of the frame until a substitute appearance late on last Saturday.

Following the win over Wigan, Roberto Mancini also reported that Adam Johnson is making good progress in his battle to return to fitness. The winger, who damaged ankle ligaments in training in late January, resumed running last week and the boss told CityTV that he is hopeful that the 24-year-old could be ready after the international break at the end of March.
