The game will kick off at 9pm UK time, (1pm LA time) and the match will be promoted by a national promotion throughout ESPN.
The shift in emphasis for the game is the first spin-off from the Blues’ FA Cup success and shows the worldwide appeal of domestic football’s most prestigious cup competition.
City will face up to the Galaxy, who have former England captain David Beckham in their ranks as well as US striker Landon Donovan and former Aston Villa man Juan Pablo Angel. The match will be played at LA Galaxy’s stadium, the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles as part of the Herbalife World Football Challenge.
The Blues will also take on Major League Soccer outfit Vancouver Whitecaps set to be played on Monday 18 July.
