In the first of a special series of pictorial features, Club photographer Sharon Latham follows the movements of City's first team stars.

We begin with the talented Mr Balotelli who began his day with a spot of shirt signing at Carrington - most of the lads begin their day this way.

Mario Arrives for training

Talk about badlly drawn boy - Mario attracts bad headlines by the truckload, but in reality he’s a lovely guy with an impish sense of humour. Everything he’s supposed not to be according to some of the tackier tabloids.

He also can’t resist showing Joe Hart and Stuart Taylor a thing or two abpout goalkeeping. Not sure about the trialist next to Harty, though. Looks like he’s on inflated wages... I’ll get my coat.

Mario and Patrick Vieira later visited St Ann’s Hospice in Heald Green to bring some much needed cheer to some elderly patients. Mario’s winning smile went down particularly well with this lady who was charmed by the young striker.

And when it comes to kids, Mario is a pussycat! Along with consummate professional and another lovely guy in Patrick Vieira, a visiting youngster had a day to remember when he met two of his heroes.

Finally, with the nation’s media gathered for a photo opportunity, Mario and Patrick meet volunteer canteen staff Shirley and Irene. Shirley later revealed she thought Patrick was “quite a looker” while Mario was the sort of lad “any mum would be proud of!”
