The boss and the squad were acclaimed by over 100,000 people on the open-top bus tour from Manchester town hall to the City of Manchester Stadium.
Before the Manager spoke, City Life President and long-serving club secretary Bernard Halford gave an emotional speech that drew a standing ovation, before the main event itself where the team were introduced along with the FA Cup.
“All the credit for what we have achieved this season has to go to the players,” said Roberto, “who worked so hard for us to win what we did. But I also want to give credit to the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Mansour and our chairman, Khaldoon al Mubarak. But what this team has done is dedicated to our fans, who have suffered for so long but can now start to dream about a better future.”
Vincent Kompany echoed the Manager and added that there’s more to come: “It’s been a fantastic historic day. This club has worked for this for so long and we’re just looking forward to doing more of it.”
