Yaya Toure will greet an old pal warmly tomorrow - but he has reminded his City team-mates they need to focus completely on a potentially tough game against Queens Park Rangers.

Blues stars and fans alike will be delighted to see Shaun Wright-Phillips, back in London with promoted Rangers and delighting the Loftus Road support in familiar fashion.

But midweek Champions League goal hero Toure is determined that the SWP reunion should not become a distraction from maintaining that five-point lead at the top of the Barclays Premier League.

Toure and Co flew straight to the capital from Wednesday’s 3-0 triumph at Villarreal to ensure their preparation to face Neil Warnock’s team in the tea-time kick-off is spot on.

Yaya said: “It will be nice to see Shaun again, he’s a great player and a fantastic guy - everybody at the club loves him, and the fans love him too.

“It will be a fantastic game as well. QPR are doing well at home now, they beat Chelsea in their derby match the other week, so we know it will be a tough game.

“And we will have to concentrate on our game - we have to look at the football, that is what’s important to us, to make sure that we build on what we have done already this season.”

City will also come up against another familiar face in former Blue Joey Barton. Toure added: “I don’t know him well, but he seems to be a clever man and he’s been in good form for them.”
