And he warned players and supporters alike not to start expecting victories to just fall into the Blues lap as they attempt to land the title and make progress in three cups.
“It is impossible to score four or five goals every game,” he declared. “We cannot do that every week.
“After the Man United win I don’t want us to think that games will be easy because that kind of game doesn’t exist especially in the Barclays Premier League.
“In every moment a game can change, we saw that in the second half against Wolves, there has to be total concentration.”
Mancini watched his men fail to break down a stubborn Wolves rear-guard for more than 50 minutes but then saw them strike in quick succession to keep the gap at the top at five points.
“It was a win we deserved, we played well,” the manager continued. “In the first half their goalkeeper was outstanding and saved everything.
“Then we had to play with ten men after Vincent got sent off but we showed good character and determination.”
Mancini said he had no complaints about the red card for his skipper and revealed why Mario Balotelli started on the bench.
“I thought Edin did well when he came on at United and again in midweek and he scored the first goal which was vital,” declared the boss. “Mario needed a rest and we have two more games this week.
“Others did well too. Samir Nasri had a very good game as did Aleks Kolarov. All the players did well and we have come out of the game with no new injuries.”
