City have been drawn away to Wolves in the Carling Cup fourth round and the tie will be televised by Sky on 26 October (7.45pm).

As so often seems to happen, the teams meet in quick succession this time three days later at the Etihad Stadium in the Premier League.

The Blues will go into the tie on Wednesday, October 26 having faced Manchester United the previous Sunday in the first Manchester derby of the season.

City and Wolves have met four times in the League Cup in years gone by, the last clash being in 1987 when the Blues won 2-0 at Molinuex to progress to the next round - despite having lost the first leg 2-1at Maine Road.

The highest profile meeting was in 1974 when the teams met in the League Cup Final at Wembley, though it was the black and gold ribbons of Wolves that were tied to the trophy after a 2-1 win.

The first meeting was in 1971/72 season when City triumphed 4-3 at Maine Road.

Ticket details will be released shortly.
