We’ve nominated five candidates for your vote on who should take the prize for performances during a roller-coaster month of Europa League and Premier League thrillers:
Micah Richards: Stand-in skipper who gave everything he had to keep City’s title bid on track, often putting his body (or head) on the line. Inspirational month from one of the Premier League’s best defenders.
Gael Clichy: Often the unsung hero, Clichy has been one of City’s most consistent performers this season. Dependable and a more than useful attacking option, he opened the month with his first City goal against Bolton.
Mario Balotelli: Four goals for the irrepressible Italian striker make him a natural contender for the player of the month award. He scored against Bolton, Sporting Lisbon and bagged two in the 3-3 draw with Sunderland to take his season tally to 17. Not a bad return!
Samir Nasri: The France international is approaching somewhere near his best form and has been influential in a number of games in March, none more so than during the 2-1 win over Chelsea. He is ending the season on a high and starting to really look the part.
Sergio Aguero: Three more goals for the February player of the month – Sergio’s double against Sporting Lisbon and penalty against Chelsea kept him easily out in front as City’s top scorer and his all-round effort and team ethic sees him as a contender for a second successive award.
