Patrick Vieira has been nominated for a prestigious Premier League honour.

The former City and Arsenal star is up for the ‘Player of 20 Seasons’ award, alongside the likes of Denis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Alan Shearer, for this coveted prize.

A panel will decide the winner on 15 May, but there are numerous other 20 Season Awards categories involving City players past or present, that supporters can vote for.

A team will be selected from lists of positions with the winners voted into the ultimate Premier League XI – the Blues have several nominations including Joe Hart, Micah Richards, Gael Clichy and David Silva from the current squad.

Vieira, David James, Shay Given, David Seaman, Peter Schmeichel, Andy Cole, Steve McManaman and Robbie Fowler are also nominated for various positions.

Hart is up for best save and two Manchester derbies are in the frame for best game, including the 4-3 win for United in 2009 and City’s 6-1 demolition derby last October.

Voting is now open and closes on 30 April.
