The in-form striker, whose stunning goal helped the Blues to victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield, says he has worked very hard this summer and enjoyed being part of the squad that travelled to Asia and Germany.
“I am feeling very good, I did all the pre-season, and the truth is I am feeling great at the moment,” confirmed Tevez.
“The pre-season games went very well, I was pleased with how I played and I am looking forward to the start of the Premier League and to start playing.”
The 28-year-old has been a regular fixture at Carrington since starting back after the break and his determination and commitment have certainly paid off on the pitch.
“This is the best I have ever felt ahead of a new season because for the first time in four or five years I have had a full month of pre-season training,” he declared.
“This has not happened in previous years because of national team commitments, so I am feeling in very good shape.”
After the ups and downs of last season, the Argentinian was keen to make it clear that he is happy at the club and is now fully focused on the future.
I am feeling very good here, all the problems are part of the past and the truth is that I am very happy now
...Carlos Tevez...
That is a view mirrored by boss Roberto Mancini who has been delighted with the application of his striker.
“Lots of people have been talking about Carlos this summer and he has worked very well. His form is better than last year. He wants to play football. He is now 100 per cent fit. This is the first time in four years we have him this fit,” he said.
“I am very happy because Carlos this year has worked very well in pre-season, and his form is better he scored a fantastic goal against Chelsea in the Community Shield. I expect him to be a very important player.”
