It seems even Roberto Mancini has a touch of Olympic fever as he pedalled into Carrington on his impressive new wheels this week.

The keen cyclist looked very much at home a top his new machine which was a special gift from Italian bike company Prestigio.

It was presented to him by the manufacturer, who have known the Blues boss for many years, during this summer’s training camp in Austria to congratulate him on winning the Premier League title.

The bespoke personalised bike, which has attracted much attention, is hand-crafted in sky blue with the Manchester City crest at the front and the Italian’s nickname from his playing days ‘Mancio’, liveried on the frame underneath the seat post.

Mancini, who cycles to Carrington every day, recently revealed his love for the sport during an interview with citytv and spoke about his biking heroes,

“Ten years ago my hero was Marco Pantani and 30 years ago it was Francesco Moser – both Italian,” the boss revealed.

Showing that he knows his stuff, Mancini also managed to correctly predict that Bradley Wiggins would be the first British cyclist to win this year’s Tour de France,

“I think that Wiggins will win in Paris, I think he will finish in the yellow jersey,” he claimed.
