Martin Atkinson has been appointed as referee for City’s clash with Manchester United on Sunday 9 December.
The last time the 41-year-old took control of a derby was when United beat the Blues 1-0 at The Etihad Stadium in April 2010.
It has also been confirmed that Mark Clattenburg will be 4th official for the top of the table festive fixture.
