With the Manchester derby just two days away, it’s time for the second instalment of vital statistics ahead of Sunday’s showdown at the Etihad Stadium.

Social media’s stats aficionado @OptaCity has drilled down into his database of facts, figures and curiosities to put together these ten points of interest.

Unhappy memories: In the Premier League, City have lost 17 times against Manchester United. The Blues have only lost more Premier League games against Arsenal (21), Chelsea (20) and Tottenham Hotspur (19).

Bookable offences: Martin Atkinson has brandished City with 34 yellow cards, red carded two and has given one penalty against City. He has yellow carded 28 and sent off one of the opposition.

Cleanest sheets: The champions have scored 18 goals in their last 10 Premier League games (1.80 gpg) and have conceded a downright stingy four goals (0.40 gpg).

Honours even: City have now drawn more (six) games this season than they did in the entire 2011-12 campaign (five).

Ebenezer Scrooges: No opposition side have managed to have more than four shots on target against City in any of the 15 PL games this season.

Sharp shooters: The only two players to score at a rate of less than 100 mins per goal this season are United’s Javier Hernandez (78.2) and City’s Edin Dzeko (92.8).

Comeback kings: City (15) and United (21) have come from behind to win a combined 36 points from losing positions in the Premier League this season.

Mixed bag: In the Premier League era, City have won five, drawn two and lost eight of their 15 home games played against Manchester United.

Head start: City have won 61 of the 70 Premier League games (87.14%) in which they have opened the scoring under Roberto Mancini.
