The sage of Serbia’s gloomy rendition of the classic ‘Jingle Bells’ has rapidly become a worldwide sensation.
Websites and news channels from every continent have picked up on Kolarov’s startling and original contribution to our Advent Calendar. He was the star of day two.
There will be no escaping it tomorrow either as BBC’s Football Focus airs the defender’s version during their derby preview.
And if you think the citytv masterpiece will soon be forgotten then think again as we have granted permission for it to be used on the Yuletide special of Channel Four’s irreverent comedy panel show ‘8 out of 10 Cats’.
So far the whole of the calendar has been a sensation particularly on the MCFC official YouTube channel. No fewer than 600,000 individuals - from more than 150 countries - have so far tuned in to view Kolarov’s comic turn and the contributions of his teammates.
With plenty more fun and games to come behind the doors it is proof positive that the days of Advent Calendars are not numbered (sorry that one came out of a seasonal cracker about a century ago!)
