Here is the pick of what the lads have been tweeting about over the past seven days.

The Blues’ top scorer Sergio Aguero took to Twitter to congratulate Kolo and Yaya Toure on reaching the Africa Cup of Nations final with the Ivory Coast.

He was soon joined by fellow countryman Pablo Zabaleta who also expressed his delight for the African stars in 140 characters.

News of Fabio Capello’s resignation from the England manager’s job has been the burning topic throughout the week and City winger Adam Johnson found time to thank his former international boss.

Elsewhere, multilingual captain Vincent Kompany explained his tweeting habits.

Yesterday’s great win for the City EDS over United in the senior cup saw many of the younger lads take to Twitter to share the triumph with their followers. Reece Wabara couldn’t resist a cheeky dig at former Blue Freddie Veseli who joined the Reds on a free transfer last week.

Reece was on the receiving end of a nasty colision with goalkeeper Eirik Johansen during the game and the Norwegian stopper tweeted a post-match apology to the young defender.
