The Football Association announced the Italian been charged with violent conduct on Monday evening, but Aguero believes Mario’s portrayal in the media and his high profile sometimes works against him.
“Firstly we all know what a fantastic player he is, but those of us who are really close to Mario know that off the field he’s a really good lad,” said Aguero.

“He’s young lad, he takes care of himself and gets on with his own business. I’m a bit of a family guy - a home bird - and I like spending time with my wife and my son.
“I love my work and do my shift. That’s what’s important to me - going about my job for City, but like I say, the truth is Mario is a lovely lad.”
With Balotelli’s dramatic last-gasp goal sealing three precious points against Spurs on Sunday, Aguero added: “We share the penalty-taking duties, but generally Mario is the official penalty taker.
“I did check with him first and said: ‘I’ll take it - are you sure you want it?’ He said: ‘Yeah I’m 100% sure’ so it was fine for him to take it.”
Looking towards City’s second leg Carling Cup semi-final against Liverpool, Aguero believes the Blues can turn the tie around and fulfil his dream to appear at Wembley.
“It’d be nice to play in a final,” he said. “We’ll be going and giving everything we’ve got because it’s an important game for this club.
“We know it’s going to be tough, but we’ll be going out to try and get to Wembley.”
