A string of accomplished displays by Gareth Barry have seen the midfielder named as the Etihad Player of the Month for December by City fans.
The 30-year-old has become one of the first names on the team sheet despite fierce competition for places in midfield. He was many people’s man-of-the-match in the superb win over Arsenal before Christmas, and he has now racked up over 100 appearances for City since joining from Aston Villa in the summer of 2009.
Joe Hart was not too far behind in second place with captain Vincent Kompany third. Blues fan Ian Sykes was one of those to vote for Gareth, and after being pulled out of the hat he will now meet him and present him with his award at the Carrington training ground.
