Omar Elabdellaoui has signed a new two-year contract with City.

The 20-year-old winger is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blues, but was on the subs’ bench v Juventus in the Europa League in December 2010.

Elabdellaoui joined City from Skied in 2008 and has made steady progress since arriving in Manchester. He joined Norwegian side Stromgodset on loan in 2011, making 12 appearances before an injury curtailed his stay.

A fractured foot meant he missed out on last year’s pre-season in the USA but the Norway Under-21 international is now hoping to make an impression in the next couple of years.

“I wasn’t sure what was going to happen towards the end of last season or what City were thinking so it was great to be offered a new deal,” said Omar from the Blues’ Austrian training camp.

“I didn’t know if I’d be on the pre-season tour or not so I was really happy to be included in the party because it is really good to be around the senior players that are here in Austria and things couldn’t be going better.

“Al Hilal on Friday evening. We have two more games left on this tour and I hope I can be involved in those matches, too.”
