Manchester City left back Greg Cunningham has moved to Bristol City on a permanent contract.

The Republic of Ireland international signed for City’s Academy in 2004, making the move from Mervue United.

He made his first team debut as a 46th minute substitute in a 4-2 victory over Scunthorpe United in the FA Cup on 24 January 2010.

His first Premier League appearance followed shortly afterwards against Birmingham City on 11 April 2010, when he came on as a substitute for Adam Johnson in the final minutes of the game.

Cunningham joined Leicester City on loan in October 2010 and on 1 January 2011 fractured his shinbone during a match against Hull City, ruling him out for four months.

On 25th October 2011, he joined Championship side Nottingham Forest and stayed with the club until the end of the season.

Cunningham moves to Bristol City on a four year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The club wishes Greg every success in his future career.
