Roberto Mancini was happy with City’s 2-0 win over Bolton that extended the Blues lead at the top of the Premier League.

The City boss admitted his team missed the opportunity to score more goals, but was pleased with three more crucial points.

“We played well and I thought Mario Balotelli had a good game, though he did miss a number of chances,” said the Blues’ boss.

“We rested one or two players today and I left Silva, Aguero, Kolarov because we had everybody fit except Micah who was injured.

“Pablo Zabaleta had a problem and had to come off as well so now we have two injured right-backs which is a problem, but we will see how things go next week.”

Mancini also praised Kolo Toure who played the majority of the game at right-back – his first appearance since January 3.

“Kolo played very well and did a great job today because he hasn’t played for several weeks,” he said. “He came on and defended and went forward well so I am pleased for him.

“Today was important because we have taken three points and we need to keep winning because Manchester United are a very good side.

“If we could win the next ten games, we would win the title. We just need to keep playing the way we are and we will have a very good chance.”
