Sergio Aguero’s fantastic first season with City has continued with the news that he has been named as the club’s Etihad Player of the Year.

The award, in association with the MCFC Supporters Club, was presented to the Argentinean striker at end of season award ceremony held at the Etihad Stadium.

Aguero has proved to be a huge hit with the fans, who voted for him in their droves near the end of a campaign where he has scored 29 times so far in all competitions.

Monday’s derby win proved to be hugely popular, winning the award for Moment of the Year on the vote held on mcfc.co.uk.

The web site also hosted the polls for Goal of the Season, won by Aguero for the first of his two away to Norwich, and Young Player of the Year. The latter went to Denis Suarez, a fixture for the Elite Development side in a season where he also made his first team debut.

David Silva’s team-mates made him their Players’ Player of the Year, and the mercurial Spaniard also picked up the EA Sports Player Performance Index Award.

The contribution made by club captain Vincent Kompany off the field was recognised when he collected the City in the Community Player Award.
