Pablo Zabaleta says City cannot let the opportunity to create history pass them by.

The Argentina international has been an integral member of the side that has won five games in succession and eaten up United’s eight-point lead at the top in the process.

Now Pablo says there can be no let-up in the bid to complete one of the most remarkable Premier League comebacks in history, with one more huge effort required against QPR.

“As a team, I think it’s going to be without doubt the most important game we’ve ever played in,” he said.

“I’m really excited because we’re only 90 minutes away from making history for this Club. I’ve been here since 2008 waiting for this moment; I want to be part of this team who make this Club bigger and more successful.

“We want to do it for our fans who I know have been waiting for a long time.

I’ve been waiting four years, but our supporters have been waiting 44 years! If we win, it’s going to be for them because they deserve the best

While the players are relaxed and focused on their task, Pablo knows it will be a very emotional day for everyone connected with the Club.

The team, however, will remain calm with a difficult game against Mark Hughes’ side still to come and the Blues’ crowd favourite wants to reassure everyone that he and his team-mates will do everything they can to earn the result needed to clinch the title.

“The only thing I can say is that all the players will do their best against QPR and we will do everything we can to win the title,” he said.

“If we succeed, it is probably the start of a new era for this club. We’re very close but nothing is done yet, so we’ll see on Sunday.”
