The Blues’ top scorer fired an 86th-minute winner after replacing Carlos Tevez – his sixth goal from the bench this season.
He admitted, while not wanting the tag ‘super sub’, he is not helping his cause by continuing to score goals from the bench!
“It’s not the first time, but it’s still a great feeling,” smiled Dzeko. “It shows our character that we are strong even when we are losing. I hope next time we will be winning 1-0 and win the game because this is much harder to play.
Dzeko admitted while the goals are going in at one end, the team has to prevent set-piece problems at the other with Spurs again exploiting a dead-ball situation in the first-half.
“Again from a free-kick we conceded a goal - a stupid one and similar to the one as against Arsenal. We have to improve in that area for sure.
“After the Spurs goal, I think we played better and were the better team over 90 minutes so we deserved three points in the end.”
Asked if his continued impact from the bench was a reminder of his qualities, he said: “Goals are my message - that is the only thing.”
