The Blues’ boss praised his players’ application, but says they can still improve as the season continues.
“We played well created a lot of chances but we also missed one or two opportunities in the first half,” he said.
“We can do better, but I hope we are starting to find the form of last season – we started to change things a few games ago and it seems to be paying off.
“I’m very pleased that our strikers have now scored six goals in the last two games – it is important they are in good form and are finding the net on a regular basis.”
Mancini also is pleased City are going into Wednesday’s game with Real Madrid with their tails high.
“The Premier League and the UEFA Champions League are two different competitions,” he said. “We will play against one of the best teams in the world – and we want to do a good job because we still have a very slight chance in this group.
“It will be difficult, but we want to win and continue our good form.”
