The Ivorian defender has been spotted smiling and nodding his head when the Toure brothers’ tribute - based on 2 Unlimited’s worldwide hit ‘No Limits’ - is aired in the South Stand or at away games.
Speaking ahead of the Blues’ trip to West Ham, he said: “I love it – it’s really nice and every time I hear it I have a big smile on my face because it’s a song about me and my brother.
“Yaya likes it too – it’s very special for two brothers to hear their names chanted together like this and even though I’m not playing that often, it shows the fans are still thinking about me which I really appreciate.”
Turning his thoughts to Saturday’s match, Kolo, who has played 88 times for City to date, added: “If you want to be champions again you have to go these tough venues and win. It will be difficult because West Ham fans can make Upton Park very noisy and it’s important we make sure they don’t have too much to sing about.
“It’s going to be a big battle against a very good side and we have to be up for the fight. They have been very good on their own ground and will look to get at us early on, so we must be on our toes from the kick-off and make sure we come away with three points.”
With Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott and Matija Nastasic seemingly ahead of Kolo in the first-team pecking order, the former Arsenal defender admitted it can be tough at times watching games from the bench – but he will continue to battle for a place.
“For the last two seasons it’s not been easy because I haven’t been a regular in the team, but I try and give my best whenever I am called upon and I will always give 100% for the team,” he said.
“I’m dealing with the situation the best way I can – I’m a professional and City is my Club so I will always play my part and remain totally committed.
“The most important thing is Manchester City and I will always be ready to do my job and help the Club continue to be successful.”
