Edin Dzeko is the Etihad Player of the Month for August and September after polling a record 6648 votes in our Facebook poll – that’s a massive 80% of all votes cast.

The Bosnian striker bagged four games during the first six weeks of the new season, including strikes against Southampton, QPR, Real Madrid and Fulham and now collects his third Etihad award since he joined in January 2011.

In a landslide victory for Edin, close pal Aleks Kolarov achieved his highest position ever finishing runner-up with 12% of the total vote – his 970 would have been enough to win the award in many previous months.

Third position went to Yaya Toure, who narrowly edged out Carlos Tevez and Joe Hart in fourth and fifth place respectively.

One lucky voter has won the chance to present the prize in person and an overseas voter will win a personal video message from Edin – both to be announced shortly.

Thanks to everyone who voted and watch out for the October nominees’ announcement towards the end of the month.
