Stingy City kept 17 clean sheets on their way to the title, but so far have zero in the blankety-blank column.
Far from being down hearted about the Blues’ generosity in defence, England’s number one says he is confident going into this weekend’s away fixture at Fulham.
“We go in there with confidence, we’re the champions and we need to play like champions,” stressed Joe Hart.
We keep getting into positions where we can win and we need to win to do what we want to do, so we have to keep clean sheets - that includes me and the whole team.
...Joe Hart...
Fulham have started the season well winning both of their opening home games and Martin Jol’s men have yet to concede at Craven Cottage.
New signings Mladen Petrić and Dimitar Berbatov have also been on form in front of goal with two goals apiece so far, but Joe believes the Blues can take something from the game.
“It’s going to be hard, it was hard last year - they took the first points of the season off us last season,” he said.
“The year before we played really well and beat them comfortably, so I think we need a little bit more of that.
Although The Cottagers have never made it easy for City on their home turf, Hart admits it is an enjoyable place to play.
“It’s always a tough game with a good crowd that appreciates football,” he concluded.
“They’re not too harsh though, they get behind their team and Fulham are a good side.”
