It’s only been just over a fortnight but Fabian Delph is already blown away by his new boss.

The Yorkshireman is of the opinion that he’s working under the best manager on the planet in Pep Guardiola.

Fabian was speaking on the first full day of City’s week-long stay in China where the team are currently preparing to take on Manchester United in the Bird’s Nest Stadium in Beijing.

“Every manager has their own methods, their own systems of play – there’s no two alike,” Fabian declared.

“I believe we’ve got the best manager in the world here at City – already in the first two to three weeks I’ve been so impressed with what we’ve been doing - the different systems, the intensity of training, his man management skills – it’s been brilliant for me.

“It’s so intense - high pressing, very energetic. it’s been tough but it’s been very, very good.”

Delph replaced Aleks Zinchenko at half-time in the opening friendly of pre-season at the Allianz Arena.

A youthful City side were narrowly edged out by their Bayern Munich counterparts but Fabian isn’t too worried about the result.

Instead, the 26-year old prefers to focus on the squad learning Guardiola’s methods and putting into practice the new tactical concepts the Catalan has brought to the party.

Fabian added: “It was our first game, because of that we’re trying to implement the systems we’ve been working on.

“It’s not going to happen overnight but the boys are switched on and eager to impress the new manager – we’re all really enjoying our football.”
