Sergio Aguero described his emotions as ‘happy’ following City’s 0-0 draw with Dynamo Kyiv to seal a place in the Champions League quarter final.

The 27-year old played the full game at the Etihad as Manuel Pellegrini’s side became the first City side to reach the last eight of the competition and states that City deserve to be in the quarter final.

He said: “It’s the first time City have qualified for the quarter final and I’m happy to get through. City should be there (in the quarter final).

Commenting on the game, Aguero stated: “The game was a bit weird because we waited for Kyiv to push a bit more, but they seemed relaxed. We had nothing to lose.”

City could be the only English side left in the prestigious competition should Arsenal be knocked out by Barcelona on Wednesday night and Sergio believes they would be a difficult rival should the two teams be drawn against each other in the quarter final.

“Well, we were drawn against Barcelona the previous two years and they knocked us out. It’s a difficult rival. They’re always a favourite to win the title.”

Aguero continued: “If you want to get far you’ll have to face the best teams. Obviously, Barcelona and Bayern are always there.

“The best teams right now, so if we can avoid them that’ll be good but well, we’ll have to face them in any given moment.”
