Injury and suspension news

West Ham have several players out with long term injuries. Diafra Sakho, Arthur Masuako, Gokhan Tore, James Collins and Alvaro Arbeloa are all likely to miss Friday’s clash.

Pep Guardiola is without Fernandinho (suspended), while Vincent Kompany and Leroy Sane are not ready.  Ilkay Gundogan remains out.

The last time

Raheem Sterling capped a man-of-the-match display with two goals in City’s 3-1 win over West Ham to make it three wins from three in August. The England winger scored City’s first by firing home from Nolito’s drilled cross before a Fernandinho header doubled the lead twelve minutes later.

Despite Michail Antonio’s second half header, Sterling rounded off the victory in the closing minutes with a cheeky finish from an acute angle.

  • The match will be both City and West Ham’s first in this season’s competition as all Premier League teams enter the FA Cup at the third round.
  • It will also be City’s first trip to the London Stadium since West Ham’s move there from the Boleyn Ground in the summer of 2016.
  • City made it to the fifth round of the FA Cup last season before losing to Chelsea while it took a quarter-final replay against Manchester United to see West Ham knocked out.
  • Sergio Aguero will become Manchester City’s third all-time highest scorer with his next goal. He is currently tied with Colin Bell on 153 goals.
