City go into the game top of the Premier League, eight points clear of second-placed Manchester United, following a hard-fought 2-1 triumph at Huddersfield.

Southampton sit in tenth position and head into the clash on the back of a 4-1 thrashing of Everton.

The game will be played at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday 29 November, kick-off at 8pm (GMT).

Team news 

City remain without long-term absentee Benjamin Mendy, who is still recovering from anterior cruciate ligament damage, while John Stones is sidelined with a hamstring injury.

For Southampton, Matt Targett is a slight doubt, having suffered a knock.

Referee

Paul Tierney will take charge of the game with Adrian Holmes and Mick McDonough as his assistants. Bobby Madley will be the fourth official.

The Last Time

The two sides last met in April at St Mary’s Stadium, with City running out 3-0 victors thanks to goals from Vincent Kompany, Leroy Sane and Sergio Aguero.
