Team news

Gabriel Jesus (knee), Benjamin Mendy (knee) and Leroy Sane (ankle) will all again miss this game due to injury.

David Silva missed the 1-1 draw with Burnley last weekend with a hip problem and he remains sidelined.

John Stones and Phil Foden are back in contention.

For the Foxes, Riyad Mahrez has missed the past two games after his deadline day move to City fell through and it is not yet known if he will feature against the Blues.

Skipper Wes Morgan has a hamstring strain and is expected to miss the game.

Pep on Sane and Jesus...

“Sane is much better, but he is still not ready. He is just running.”

“But Gabriel is coming back soon - maybe seven days, 10 days, two weeks.”

Press conference

Will appear here on Friday afternoon...

Leicester boss Claude Puel...

“It is a good challenge. A fantastic and exciting challenge. We have no pressure against this team, they are the favourites.

“It is a good challenge to play our football. Of course it is difficult against this team. To show if we have improved from our last game against this team.

“In the Premier League game against them it was difficult, the sending off after three minutes changed the game. The second round in the cup was a good game until the lottery of penalties. It was a good response.

“Now, away, we can show our progress against this team.”

Stats

City have lost four of their six Premier League home matches against Leicester. Only Tottenham have won as many away games against them.

However, Leicester’s only two victories in the last 14 competitive meetings came home and away in 2016.

The Foxes could lose three consecutive league matches in this fixture for the first time since August 1961.

The two sides have already met twice this season, with Manchester City winning 2-0 away in the Premier League and also advancing on penalties after a 1-1 draw in a Carabao Cup quarter-final in December.
